In her role at DNR, Martínez serves as a liaison for the agency and community partners on projects focused on community resilience and outreach to underrepresented communities. One project, Wildfire Ready Neighbors, helps educate the public about the dangers of wildfires, including prolonged periods of poor air quality, and supports wildfire preparedness, Martínez said.
Martínez was previously a bilingual election specialist for the Yakima County Auditor’s Office. He said he used the post to learn and educate voters about the electoral process in Yakima County and Washington State.
