Coast Guard suspends search for missing brothers in Savannah River

Update 9:19 pm: The US Coast Guard has suspended its search for Joseph and Thomas Fox. The USCG said the Savannah Fire Department will continue to search with first-light divers. Initial Report: The Coast Guard and other partner agencies are looking for two men whose boat collided with a dredge in the Savannah River on Friday. The missing men are identified as brothers Joseph and Thomas Fox. According to the Coast Guard, one was wearing blue shorts at the time of the crash, the other was wearing pink shorts. Savannah Fire Department personnel perform side scan sonar of the area. Divers from the Savannah Police Department are on standby. According to the coast guard, the boat accident happened around 9 p.m. near Elba Island. We are told there were seven people on the boat when it collided with the dredge. The seven people entered the water. Five people were rescued. The five people rescued were reportedly injured. They were taken to Savannah Memorial Hospital for treatment.
